Update business unit of merged deactivated accounts

Hi,

I had a requirement wherein i need to merge one business unit into another. I was able to do it sucessfully. The only issue i faced is that, there are some accounts which were merged into another accounts and then deactivated. These accounts still remain the the old business unit. Is there a way to change the business unit of these merged deactivated accounts ? I tried with Excel import bulk update, but it shows error that the record does not exist. One solution i thought is updating these records using a console app. Can this be done using OOB features ?

Thanks,

Najm

Hi , you should be actually able to bulk edit inactive records using excel import.

but i would suggest you try 3-4 accounts in UI first to edit and see what do you see there.

go to advanced find look for those accounts and select 3 accounts and click on edit.

Hi, i am unable to bulk edith the records, it gives the message The record was merged with XYZ record, and then deactivated. That was the reason i thought of writing a console app which will do it.

    Hi MdNazar,

You can create a console application for updating those record also you can use Execute Multiple request for updating data in bulk(1000/service call) you can check below link for the same

Hi Everyone, i have created a console application to implement this, But there is SMS authentication implemented in my D365 environment. So, my console application cannot get the dynamics password generated through SMS. Can you suggest me what project type i need to create so that it should ask me the username, password and SMS through web page.

    Thanks
