Campaign Automation: Multiple Triggers

Hello,

How do multiple triggers interact with each other? Does it become an either-or situation, or do both have to be valid to continue? Does it get stuck along the "first" trigger to be considered pass/fail?

Thanks

    RE: Campaign Automation: Multiple Triggers

    In your example here, you do not actually need the first trigger. The scoring tile simply tells the system to recalculate a given scoring model right away at that point in the campaign execution. The scoring model itself will determine what the new score will be, so there is no need to include a special trigger in the campaign automation. Instead, set up your scoring model with a rule that reacts to opens on that email message.

    The trick of using the scoring tile is to make sure enough time has passed for the scored event to occur. One thing you could do in your example is to put a scoring tile after your landing-page-registration trigger and also put another scoring tile after the scheduler for that same trigger; finally, set the scheduler to wait a couple of days to give the message a chance to be opened.

    [List] -> [Mail]--[Landing Page] -> [Trigger (on submit)] -> [Score] -> ...
                                                             |
                                                             -> [Scheduler] -> [Score]

    Another way to trigger automatic rescoring is to set the lead scoring model itself to automatically rescore according to your site's scoring interval (default, once an hour). If you are doing this, then there is no need for the scoring tile at all unless you are in a big hurry to score on submit.

    Hey, did you try putting the marketing list, then the email, the landing page linked to the email, then put two triggers next (by dragging two trigger activities over the landing page/email tile?

    Hope this helps.

    RE: Campaign Automation: Multiple Triggers

    Bobby,

    I have a question based upon the earlier question:

    Here's the rundown on the campaign example. We want to register email opens and score them for it, and then we want to have another trigger based on a landing page registration. However we get the "Configured Parent Activity is not valid". This is why we had multiple triggers in the first place. Is there a better way to do this?

    Thanks,

    Greg

    Hi Greg,

    You are correct in that if someone opens the e-mail, they would continue through the first trigger (e-mail opened) and completely ignore the second trigger (user registered).

    Hi Greg

    Can you please detail how you would setup these multiple triggers?

    Please attache a screenshot with such a campaign flow to understand better your question.
