Restriction on dimension in item reclassification journal

I have created locations as a dimension.

I want to issue item through item reclassification journal.(negative adjustment).

On hand inventory available but there is no inventory available in location(dimension). How can system restrict to issue the inventory in such case.

    Hi,

    You can go to the Item card > Dimension and on Dimension page, you can choose that particular location as code mandatory option. See if it helps you.

    Dimension already mandatory.

    But how can we prevent negative inventory in dimension.

    You can make TRUE this into Inventory setup page, to prevent negative inventory, but it will not work dimension wise.

    Your inventory is not being recorded on a dimension level only on a item no. and Location number if you chose to use locations in you setup. The dimensions are there for financial reporting purpose and not for keeping physical inventory.

    Hi, I agree with Nitin, in this case you need to do some customization, otherwise it is only human control.

    Because there is no quantity in Dimension, I am not sure what is the purpose of adding Location to Dimension. You need to calculate it in Item Ledger Entries based on the value of Dimension (Location) and Item No. every time.
