Biz Portal for GP10 not supported for Windows Server 2008 ?

The newly installed Windows Server 2008 standard edition with service pack 2.

All the necessary prerequisite components and software are installed and configured, accordingly (eg. ActiveDirectory, IIS Web service, SQL Server 2008 Express with Advanced Services, Dynamics GP 10.0 with SP4, Windows SharePoint Service 3.0 ...etc)

However, when I proceed to install the Business Portal For GP 10.0 it prompted with the below error message:

Your operating system does not meet requirements for Business Portal. The supported operating systems are Windows 2003 Server (Standard, Enterprise, and Web Edition) and Small Business Server 2003.

If Business Portal can be run on Windows server 2008, Could you please provide me the guide on how to install it in Windows Server 2008.

Appreciate your advices. Thank you very much.

Business Portal for GP 10.0 Can be installed on Windows Server 2008 32-Bit only.  In order to get the installer to run on this platform, you have to go to Customer Source and download Business Portal 4.0 Service Pack 2.  There is an installer in the zip file that will allow you to run BP on Server 2008.

FYI, if you are planning on upgrading to GP 2010, you might want to hold off on Business Portal.  The new Business Portal 2010 can be installed on a 64-bit platform, and there are several new features that are sure to be of use, however there are additional requirements that must be satisfied.  Check out the documentation when it becomes available.  I think it's May 1, 2010.

I know I need sp2 for the business portal, but I'm not finding it to download it... Could you point in the right direction?

    Ok Jodi, here goes:

Log into Customer Source.  On the left hand side, look for Downloads and Updates, and then click on Service Packs and Product Releases.  When the page loads, look for a link titled "Service Paks, Hotfix, and Compliance Update Patch Releases for Dynamics GP 10.0" and click on that link.

When the page loads, scroll to the section called Related Products and look for Business Portal Service Pack Downloads (it should be in the top, right hand corner of the list).  Click on the "Latest Download" link.

Scroll to the Downloads section of the page and click on the Service Pack 2 link to get the service pack.  The download manager will appear asking where you want to save the file(s).

    Hope this helps you,

I would love to do that Aaron, but the link is broken and has been for at least a month since I started working on moving to GP10.  Could you post the link to sp2 here for me?

     thanks, jodi
