Why is the designer not available in BC 14?

Hey guys,

I have a BC 14 version onPrem and in this instance I want to make it possible to let all the users use the "designer".

I have created 20 users and these 20 users have the following permissions:

In the following you see the permission of one user as an example, where it is not possible to use the "designer".

Not possible means, it is not there where it used to be.

If I delete the name of the "Mandant" from D365 Extension Management, then it is possible to find the "designer" and it is also possible to use it, but when I do some changes with the "designer" on the Customer Card, the changes are also visible for the other 19 users in their environment...

Do you have an idea, how to solve this?

Hi,

From what I understand is you are looking for User Personalization.

Designer is used to make changes in the Business Central pages just like customization. Any changes made through designer are available to all the users as it is deployed as an extension.

When you personalize, the changes only remain limited to the User.

thank you for your answer. The dropdown is only showing "my settings" and nothing more^^ that is my problem.

The designer and personalize work different. Personalize is only for that user, while designer is creating extension that applies to all users and companies in the environment.

In order for you to design, you need to have access to all companies. That means you will need to remove the CRONUS AG from your company permission.
