MR We're using GP2013

Posted on by 850

I'm using MR and trying to drill down to the GL detail on an AA code and it gives me this message: "the operation could not be completed due to a problem in the source system". We are currently using GP 2013 12.00.1538(SP2) and MR 2012 version 2.1.1037.15. Thank you so much for your help.

Creating a new deployment seems a little overkill for a rollup install as I've never had problems upgrading MR to new Rollups; not everyone has a spare server sitting round.

Ensure you have a backup of the ManagementReporter database before you start so you can restore it should there be a need.

MR 2012 version 2.1.1037.15 is RU5.  I would strongly recommend installing a current release of Management Reporter (CU8 or CU9) on another machine, using a different port (like 4713) and test to see if it behaves the same way - I doubt it will.  You should be able to export your Building Blocks to a TDBX file and import them to the new machine without too much trouble.

I do not suggest upgrading RU5 in situ, it is far better to have a functioning version of MR, rather than destroy it in the attempt.
