It seems that /Pick + Forward/ flushing doesn't require a pick. Is this correct or am I missing something?
I have set up an Item with a Production BOM where all components are set to Pick + Forward flushing. The location is configured for directed pick and put-away.
On the Firm Planned Production Order there is no function to generate a pick (or warehouse movement) that would ensure there are enough components in my consumption bin.
Note that the production order cannot be released unless there is enough of each component in the respective consumption bins to complete the production order. Finally, if there are enough components in the consumption bins the Firm Planned Production Order will release and consume the components without requiring a pick to be generated.
The
Microsoft docs on this topic pretty clearly state that there must be enough quantity in the bins to complete the production order.
From what I can see Bin replenishment needs to be done manually or rely on Bin min max settings to ensure required qty is available. Alternatively, I need to customize to add the pick functionality to the Firm Planned Prod. Order.
