Read Only - License

Hi all,

We have a scenario with a customer who has a number of users who should have read-only access to Business Central.

Could someone clarify if the read-only users should still have a Business Central License bought and assigned to their user? If so, would a Team member license be enough?

Thanks in advance!

They will need a business Central license. But you should be able to use a Team user for those users who will not insert, edit or modify any data or a very limited amount of data.

    Hi

Inge provided the answer. Just to add to that answer.

If all those users use specific number of devices (like user in shop that use one shared computer) then you can look into Device License as well.

For example if you have 10 users and one computer then device license is a better option.

Hi, Team Member can read anything within Dynamics 365 Business Central, and have write permissions for some tables. In fact, this is somewhat similar to NAV's Limited User.

Hasn’t been released yet but will be soon. Business Central will have a Teams read only license. Early suggestions being that your office 365 license covers it and you need other users with regular licenses. Might be a monthly saving for your customers
