Adxstudio portal tightly coupled with CRM

Hi all,

I'm evaluating Adxstudio and I have some questions

- How tightly coupled Adxstudio and CRM ? Can Adxstudio connect to CRM though an integration point like Service Bus ?

- Can one Adxstudio portal serve multiple CRM tenants ?

    Hi

    When you talk about ADX Studio are you referring to Dynamics Portals (ADX was purchased by Microsoft in 2015)

    Portals is now a SKU within CRM

    Hi Crm Practitioner,

    Dynamics 365 Portals (aka CRM Portals aka Adxstudio Portals) is a CMS built on top of Dynamics CRM 365.  They are very tightly coupled.  Adxstudio doesn't have a separate database, CRM is the database.

    You can setup multiple portals in one CRM instance but not the other way around.

    You could setup multiple connection strings with each one referring to a different CRM organization, and connect to and perform data operations against the various organizations using the CRM SDK. This would be equivalent to treating the extra CRM organizations as custom data sources that you'd be integrating with and implementing your own integration logic and code.

    However as indicated in Nadeeja's response, only one of them could be the source of data used for displaying content and managing data using the various features in Adxstudio Portals.
