Assign Contacts to two Accounts

Hi

In out industry we have a lot of job sharing, with contacts working for a few accounts. I wanted to ask if it was possible to allow certain contacts to be linked to two accounts?

We dont want to create two individual contact records as it will be difficult to manage the history eg one might be picked in a campaign and the other not.

Create 1:N relationship between contact as primary and Account  then you can have same contact related to multiple accounts. You can give custom relationship to identify this. Once you have relationship created add subgrid in contact to show all the accounts as well place the contact lookup in account to show contact record.

    Hi Chitrarasan

I take it I create this new 1:N under the contact entity?

For the subgrid, what options should I use to display all accounts

yes Create 1:N relationship in contact record  as shown in image and provide relationship name that makes sense for your company Business.

I think Guido's option might suit what we are after.

While a view showing all accounts would be good, the contact still has to be tagged to belong to that account.

However I would need to edit the contacts view in accounts to show contacts who have been tagged as both the standard primary account and also the new secondary account custom field created to give the full link.

How could I edit the account form to show all contacts in the prebuilt contact subgrid?

I know i can create a new subgrid and use the new dropdown creating ie contacts (secondary account), but is there a way to have both contacts being showing in the same subgrid?

There is no oob functionality to achieve this but you can apply custom fetchxml on the subgrid to get all the contacts .
