FRx Help needed

ReportReport

Hi Everyone,

I need to trouble shoot an FRx problem.  If this isn't the right place, can someone please point me in the right direction.  If it is, here is my problem.

When starting Report Manager, I get an error message stating:

FRxSoftware.FRx.ReportManager.Application has stopped working.  From what I can gather, this is a VB6 problem.  This was working fine a few days ago and the application server has not been updated so I'm a little stumpted on how to resolve this.  I'm running GP 10.0 and FRx 6.7 on a virtual win2008 32bit platform with an sql 2005 DB backend

Thanks for any help.

    Hi Tim,

No, you can post here (as long as its FRx with GP!!). Something has changed in your system. Is your machine set toauto download updates?

    • Have you tried re-installing FRx?
    • Have you applied the latest service pack tp FRx?
    • When exactly do you get the message, is it when you double click the icon, or do you get to the user log on window?

    Best regards,

    Ian.

     Hi Ian,

Thanks for you response.  Yes, our FRx is with GP :)

    •  No windows updates have been applied since the original install.
    •  The latest service pack was applied was 10
    •  I get the error message when I double click the icon
    •  I have not re-installed FRx.  I was hoping that would be a last option.
    Thanks- Tim

Re-installing might be the easiest option! Its very straighforward and fast.Just make sure you back up your spec sets etc. before you do.

You could always install FRx on another machine and eithre link to your shared reports if they are stored centrally, or copy across the files from your machine. Just make sure that the new install is sevice packed up to the same level as the existing install.

I really don't have any idea what would be causing that error.

Check out Victoria's blog post on FRx service pack version numbers. Whichever one matches your current version, download that service pack and apply it after you install on the new machine, and before you point FRx at the shared resource folder.

    Hello,

My client is having this same problem on 2 machines, but the application works on another machine. All 3 of the machines attempting to launch Report Manager are 64 bit.

    The error received is this:

    Problem Event Name; CLR20r3

    Problem Signature 01: frxreportmanager.exe

    Problem Signature 02: 6.7.0.10343

    Problem Signature 03: 472769e1

    Problem Signature 04: FRxReporterManager

    Problem Signature 05: 6.7.0.10343

    Problem Signature 06: 472769e1

    Problem Signature 07: bc

    Problem Signature 08: 4f

    Problem Signature 09: System.TypeInitialization

    OSVersion: 6.1.7601.2.1.274.10

    Locale ID: 1033

Help? One of the computers that is not working is a brand new install of FRx, so I'm not uninstalling and reinstalling is the answer?

Any thoughts you have, though, are truly appreciated.

    Thanks!

1.You can right click on report designer and run as administrator.

2.You can to re-install FRX.Make sure you have a backup of SysData folder.

3.You can also apply service pack 12 having stated that you have 10.

4.You can stop anti-virus and firewalls temporarily.

4.In an extreme circumstance, you may be forced to repair windows or re-install windows.

    Goodluck.
