Default a specific view to display as a "Grid" rather than "Calendar"

I simply want to create a new personal view of Activities that defaults to Grid view, rather than Calendar. I have read the technique for making this change system-wide for the Activity entity, by using the System customization interface, but that's not we want. We just want one particular Activity view to be grid by default. I have to believe I am missing something super basic.

What's the secret sauce?

TIA,

Bob

    Hi CICAdmin,

Unfortunately, there is no setting do this. Controls is entity-level, not view-level. You can only set default control for Web, Phone and Tablet by using the System customization interface:

After setting it, you could change the control by click Show As button in the command bar. However, you couldn't set the control as default.
