CRM Online 2016 Update 1 - trial Portal Service addon

Hello everyone

I've recently had my CRM Online 2016 instance updated to Update 1 (8.1.0362) (DB 8.1.0.362).

I'm wanting to trial the new Portal Service addon, but don't see this listed in the list of solutions for installation, or under the Applications tab in the CRM section of the Office365 portal.

I can only see the options to trial the new Field Service and Project Service addons under solutions.

Does anyone know what the procedure is to trial the Portal Service addon in CRM Online Update 1?

Thanks very much.

Rean

    Hello,

Unfortunately portal trials are not yet available. I am not aware of when they might become available, but I will gladly update this thread when they do.

Thanks for the reply Patrick - I'll keep an eye out for any updates on this.

    Cheers

Are portals available to Microsoft Partners yet?  Asking because Adxstudio trial creation is currently unavailable and because of this, I can't request an extension.

    Hi Rean,

    It is now available however will not show on existing subscriptions. You will need to do the following;

In office 365 admin portal, create a new subscription and purchase 5 dynamics CRM professional users. **you must procure these 5 new licences on a new subscription within the office365 admin portal**

Once you have completed this transaction, select 'Buy Add Ons' on your NEW subscription - you should now see MS Dynamics CRM Online – Portal Add On  available to buy.

    Regards

    Fatima

I am not sure that this is accurate information. The only requirement to purchase the new portal add-on is a CRM Online 2016 Update 1 org. Please do provide more information if you have found otherwise. Thanks

I'd like to know about Trials for the Portal Add-On as well.

Our organization will likely purchase this service, but we will wait until we can test it with a trial.

Good news! Trials of the portal add-on for Microsoft Dynamics CRMOL 2016 that were introduced with Update 1 can now be requested by Microsoft Partners, MVPs, and internal Microsoft staff at crmmanagedtrials.dynamics.com

Our organization has the 2016 Update 1, but the portals do not show up as a solution for me to install. I read all of the instructions for installing them, but when I open the solutions for my instance, they are not there.

    Hi Brandon,

The portal add-on must be purchased as a subscription through the 0365 Admin Center. Once you've purchased the portal-add on subscription you will be able to add the solution to one of your CRM orgs in the CRM Admin Center. *None of the portal add-on solutions will be installed as solutions previously were. They are all installed via the CRM Admin Center once you've purchased the subscription.
