Hiding a field from Advanced find view and reports

Hello Everyone,

I am hiding a field in Contact form and using it only in back-end for other purpose. Can we also hide it in Advanced find view and Reports, so that users won't have the option to select that field?

Any help is appreciated.

    Yes, you can use field security and hide it completely for specified users/teams crmbook.powerobjects.com/.../field-security-profiles

    You can set the property of that field as Searchable = No in customization. Then it won't show in Adv.Find

    Still the field can be added as column in advanced find view.

    If I am right, setting searchable NO only makes the field not searchable in Advanced Find, but still it can be added a column (?)

    Hi Praveen Kumar Ellappa,

    That is correct. There are currently no supported methods to prevent Users from adding the fields as a column in Advanced Find. The best solution currently available is a combination of hiding the fields you do not want to be visible from the Advanced Find field selection, and implementing Field Security Profiles on the fields you want hidden. Users will still have the ability to add these fields as a column, but they will not be able to see the values in the column unless they have the required permissions.
