Out of Box Approach to Track User Engagement without Using Auditing / Organization Insights

Hi,

Can anyone help me with this one?

Our organization just started a new CRM platform a few months ago. Due to the storage limit concern, we didn't turn on the auditing, and the version of our CRM doesn't have organization insights dashboard either ( and we don't upload solution by ourselves).

What is the easiest way to track user engagement such as: most active users (reads, changes, performing specific operations), total operations (create, update, deletes, reads), without using auditing summary?

Is there way to pull out all the activities a specific user has been performing ?

Greatly appreciated!!

PS: We are using dynamics crm 2016 online

    Hi,

If you aren't using auditing because of the space it would take up, there aren't any suggestions that would give you what you want without causing even more overhead.

You could try to infer some of the data by looking at number of records where Modified By was User XYZ, but that's unreliable because that just shows you the last person who updated it and not every record.

I would look at turning on auditing for User Access and seeing how that works for you. It won't tell you Number of Records and all that, but it won't take up much space either. Here's a link that shows the type of info you'd get: blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../auditing-user-logon

Hope this helps! I'd appreciate if you'd mark this as Answering your question.

    Thanks,

     Aiden

    hi Aiden,

Thank for your reply. I think I have to agree with you. I tried to use dashboards to see how many new leads were created by new users, but it is just a piece of info, not an overall picture.
