An error has occurred

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

An error has occurred directly after entering user details. Doesn't matter what Browser i use. Tried this for a user having problems and now, my login doesn't work either. The error is very vague.

    This is now resolved.

The issue was that CRM was losing the Active directory SID for the user.

Changed the name to another user and saved it.

Changed the name back to the original user and saved,

    Issue resolved....

Yes restarted IIS. Still not working.

Strange as it is one user. They have been setup the same as everyone else.

Doesn't matter what computer or browser.

Have you added those keys on the same server where CRM is installed?

Have you restarted IIS after you added keys?

    RE: An error has occurred

I enabled the first 3 reg entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\MSCRM.

But no traces have been recorded in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Trace.

Am i looking in the wrong place. All a bit confusing...

Don't touch PS. If you added regkeys - it's enough to start tracing.

Try to turn on trace - support.microsoft.com/.../how-to-enable-tracing-in-microsoft-dynamics-crm then restart iis, and try again to log in to CRM using that user account. After that recheck trace folder on server for logs - logs generated should contain detailed exception.

This is running fine. I have restarted this, but made no difference. Please note, only affecting one user. But does not matter which browser used.

I can confirm that this enabled with in the Servers. It is set to our local network though ie xxx.xxxxxx.local
