How to create Business Unit's in an Unmanaged Solution?

I'm new to CRM and I'm trying to figure out how create a few Business Unit's on a dev server so I test them out with security roles, then move them to a production server in a solution.

I have created an unmanaged solution.

Were in the solution would I go to create a new Business Unit?

You can't add bushiness unit using the solution as it's not a solution component. Either you have to manually create Business Units in destination org or export BU from source org and import the Business Units using import data functionality in destination org.

Hi James,

Business Unit in CRM is not a solution component, but it is a Data.

Meanwhile, Security Roles are part of solution component, which you can export and import from one organization to others.

For the Business Unit, you need to export and import using Export to Excel

and Import to another organization using the out of the box Import Wizard.

*If you cannot find the Import button in the ribbon, you can go to Settings --> Data Management --> Imports

Then Import Data

Select the target entity:
