Contracts, Contract Line Items, and Contract Templates entities are deprecated in Dynamics 365...

Posted on by 2,645

I am currently on CRM 2016, but saw that Contracts, Contract Line Items, and Contract Templates entities are deprecated in Dynamics 365.  Does anyone know what I would need to do to ensure I don't lose any of the records/information that I have in Contract, Contract Line Items and Contract Template entities when I upgrade to 365?

Sorry for giving confusing reply.I had shared that link so you understand entitlements and contract.I have searched a lot about it but there is no such way to migrate contracts to entitlements.I believe you have to migrate it manually. If there  are so many records of contract then you have to design automation.I am still looking for this solution. I wonders there was so many old post related to same issue but there was no or minimum reply for  those posts.

I am sorry, but the link and information I don't think really answers my question, unless I am misunderstanding your response.  My question is more in the way, that I have contract and contract lines right now as entities in CRM 2016.  I have many records for both Contracts and Contract Lines.  When going to 365, I understand that these entities will go away eventually.  Is there a process to transition the existing entities/records over to the entitlements area so that nothing is lost?  Thank you.

It depends on  your requirements  because contract  can use for invoice tracking.you have to do it manually if number of records  is so much then you to design few automation.for more details on contract and entitlement sue following link

    Hope this will help you

Is there a process then to convert the existing records over into the entitlements? Or is this done all manually?

Deprecated features are not discontinued but they will not available  in next release of Dynamics 365.This feature still available in 9.0 but soon it will be discontinue so instead of that you should use entitlements. If need more information on contract use following link
