Issue setting search columns on quick find view

Hello,

Currently when I use the quick find box for LEADS it seems to be searching just on the first or last name (NOT full name). So if I type a Lead's full name into the search box it won't find them (even with *).

In settings I went to the Quick Find View for Leads and tried to add full name in the list of columns to search in, but full name wasn't visible on the list!

I was able to select full name as a search column for the Quick Find view for contacts, so I'm not sure why I can't do the same for Leads.

Any ideas?

Hi Scott - thanks very much, this was the problem. So simple, but I didn't realise it was called 'name'!

    Hi C Taylor,

The Quick Find View is by default only search and show 'Open Lead', it was set in the filter criteria.

So, if you search the lead by full name but the Lead has been closed before, so it will not show in the result.

Do you search the Closed Lead?

    Thanks.

    Nice Job Scott.

Why did CRM do that when they have a field called "Full Name" then list it under "Names" in the Views. Very confusing!!!

Leads do have a Full Name field - it is called simply 'Name' and is by default in the Quick Find view. It could be that someone has removed it and marked it as not searchable in the field configuration.

I don't think leads have a full name field?

if it does exist you need to make it searchable and then it will appear in the quick find choices.

I think you can only do a Full Name search with Contacts.

I stand corrected by Scott please see his post below....
