Mobile App Offline Mode Filter Records

Hi
 
For some reason if we put the mobile app into offline mode we lose the ability to filter records. Is this a setting somewhere? 
 
The inability to filter offline is having a huge impact in the areas we serve which has poor or non-existent mobile coverage in places.
