USD KnowledgeBase Search box can it be modified?

Hi,

I implemented the KB search in my USD, but it's working a little weird in my opinion:

1) when the Tab appears, the textbox doesn't have a suggestion inside the textbox:

2) but after I click in the textbox and click outside, the suggestion "Search" appears:

I have a few questions about that:

a) Is there a way to force the control to have that suggestion from the first time the control is loaded?

b) Is there a way to change the text inside the searcbox (i.e. "Enter a KB title...")?

c) Is there a way to customize the font of the suggestion (i.e. making the text a different color, or bold, etc) ?

Thanks a lot!

Jaime

    Thanks for your reponse...

No, even if I only call the "default" action, I still don't get the suggestion text inside the search box...

I also tried firing the "Search" action of the KB Control, and even with that, the textbox appears empty.

    I'll keep researching this

That's strange, Probably you/Microsoft might be firing the "SearchArticle" action when the page is loaded with empty search. I firmly blv that could be the reason for empty text box on initial load.

    Answers to your question:

    a) Check if you are firing any actions on Kb article control, try to get rid of them and see if that works in any way. Also, how are you opening this kb article?

    b) No, but you can use the action and pass "Enter a KB title...", that would place this text as a normal text and searches for it, Of course the result would be 0.

    c) No, Not in a supported way.
