I want to ask that I've been trying to configure a catalog for a B2C web store already up and running.
I've done all the prerequisites required before starting the creation of catalog. But when I try to validate the catalog I get the error as displayed in the attached picture.
Would love to get a response on this.

You shouldn't need a Catalogue for a B2C Online store. The Navigation hierarchy and Assortment of products is enough.
Catalogues are only supported for B2B Online stores and B2B Customer hierarchies.
If you are experiencing problems publishing products to the Online store, makes sure that your Online store record is fully configured and that you have run 'Publish channel updates' in the Channel categories and product attributes form. Also ensure that you have run the 9999 Distribution job.
Then log a support call with Microsoft if your online channel is still not working.

We ran into a similar issue a while back. We put in a support ticket with Microsoft support and the end result was that we were informed that the catalog only works for B2B. This was back in April of this year, so I don't know if this has changed since. You can see the response from support in the below image.
