Activity updating ownership

 There are a few activities which I need to update the owner of the record but they are in Completed status or Open. With completed, I cannot edit the record anymore.

Is there an easy way to update the owner for each of these activities? Workflows didn't have the option to update the owner.

Web Form Activity

    Hello Tekwise;

    For updating the owner in a record for Workflows. It's actually called the assign command. So instead of selecting the action to update the record you'd select the "assign" option.

    If the records are all under a user or two there is the ability to reassign all records from one user to another.

    Can't you select all of the activities you want then use the menu to use the assign command? these allow you to move closed activities over to another user.

    I think On demand workflow can help, in order to update ownership, use "Assign" Operation.

    Abhishek - there's no ownership field in work flow.

    Jason Cosman - thanks it works for only open records, how can I update closed ones without having to modify the record? Such as emails with Completed status

    Humm I'm a bit surprised by this TekWise. Inside of CRM 2015 on prem I have no issues reassigning closed records through the command Assign in the activities view; this is for any completed emails etc.

    What does it say when you try to select a completed email and click assign?

    Yes there is no ownership feild, my point was assign operation in workflow will update owner of the entity data. All you need to create a ondemand workflow, and add assign operation to it, activate and run on selected records where ownership needs to get changed.

    once activity is closed or cancelled, it is read only, you can't modify the records.

    you to re-open the activity and then update the owner and closed it again.

    Can someone tell me how I can reopen activities?
