Assigning records to users in teams

Have been looking for a solution but can't seem to find it so hoping someone can help me.

Is there a way to restrict assigning records (customized entity) to someone in a particular team? When you assign a record that dialog pops up asking if you want to assign it to me or User or Team- I need that specific filter look up view to show only users from a particular team?

Is this possible with customization or would there be some dev involved?

Thanks!!

    Hi Danya

We have got a similar requirement. Could you let me know if you were able to default the view(in Assign popup) to a specific team?

    Many Thanks!

    Hi Danya,

Which means you want make that that Look In and Look Up as  to be standard rite? so that the user will not be able to change that?

    Hi Nithya

Thank you for this. However, I want to restrict the dialog to only show the view that I've created with the users belonging to a specific team. At the moment, when you look up more records, you are still able to change the "look for" and "Look in"- i want to ONLY be able to show look for Users and Look in the new view I've created.

    Hi Danya,

For customizing lookups and assigning records to team, first we need to make a custom lookup view as referred in the blog below:

    http://ledgeviewpartners.com/blog/customize-lookup-views-in-dynamics-crm/

Now we can assign records using this view to team as follows

In the 'Look In' field, you have to select the lookup view you just created as above. Now only the users in that look up view will appear.

Also refer the link below foe further reference.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks
