Does anybody know what is the difference between Dynamics 365 (on-premises) and Dynamics CRM 2016 (on-premises)?
Thanks!

Have a look:

I asked my question after looking into it.
The licensing structure has totally changed, now there are only below CALs for Dynamics 365 on-primes:
Dyn365 For TeamMembers DvcCAL
Dyn365 For TeamMembers UsrCAL
Dyn365 For Sales DvcCAL
Dyn365 For Sales UsrCAL
Dyn365 For CustmrSrvc UsrCAL
Dyn365 For CustmrSrvc DvcCAL.
Basic marketing module is included on Sales :)
@Andrew73, so what is not clear to you regarding that link?
It seems that the Dynamics 365 Server is just an update of CRM 2016 (Dec update 2.0) and no separate installer is in place to setup a new deployment ... all you need to deploy CRM 2016 first and then apply Dec 2016 update - alternatively you can upgrade your existing deployment etc..Dynamics 365 bundles Crm and ERP (AX) capabilities and we can say after Dec 2016 update product name becomes Dynamics 365 not Dynamics Crm 2016
Hi Jameel,
That's what my thoughts are.
1. The licensing structure has changed. App based licensing structure is introduced.
2. The following licenses are available -
a. Dynamics 365 for Sales On Premise User CAL
b. Dynamics 365 for Sales On Premise Device CAL
c. Dynamics 365 for Customer Service On Premise User CAL
d. Dynamics 365 for Customer Service On Premise Device CAL
e. Dynamics 365 for Team Members On Premise
3. CRM Server license is discontinued and now built in app licenses
4. Editable Grids
5. Visual Process Designer
6. Mobile Offline API
7. Hybrid server-side synchronization (connect CRM on-premises to Exchange Online)
8. Interactive Service Hub Enhancements
Hi AndrewTenfold just recently added MS office 365 to their integrations list. Tenfold offers features such as click to dial, automatic call logging, easy note taking and task creation, screen pops on inbound and outbound calls, new lead/contact creation when no matching records, support for cases/opportunities and advanced analytics on the backend. They also support MS Dynamics integration.www.tenfold.com/.../microsoft-office-365
the thread was about the difference between CRM 2016 (on-premises) and Dynamics 365 (on-premises)!seeing things from on-premises perspective Dynamics 365 is the new label for CRM 2016. The functionality is the same, but is now split up in different parts, like sales, service, marketing etc. Most of these parts except the ERPs were part of CRM 2016. The Sales, Services and Marketing Module are unchanged but there are some new features inserted by Microsoft in Dynamics 365. like ...
etc ...key point to note that As part of the Dec 2016 update, the application name changes to Microsoft Dynamics 365. that is it.regarding licensing, complete guide can be downloaded from https://download.microsoft.com/documents/en-us/dynamics365/pricing/Dynamics_365_On-Premises_Enterprise_edition_licensing_Guide_December_2016.pdf
Hi Andrew
Tenfold can help in integrating MS Dynamics 365 and enabling click to dial in Outlook. Our click to dial also works on webpages opened in Chrome. They also support MS Dynamics integration www.tenfold.com/.../dynamics
