what does it mean when the NSF button is grayed out?   I go to Transactions >> Sales >> Posted Transactions, select customer, select Payment type, select a payment and the NSF button is grayed out.  Thanks.

It is a silly question …. is the selected payment has Payment Method check?

Good question.  I clicked on the red Number hyperlink and found out when the NSF button is grayed out, it's because the payment was not a check.

However I then did some testing and found out that even if you include the receipt (customer's check) in a deposit, post the deposit and then clear the deposit in Reconcile Bank Statement and reconcile your checkbook to the bank statement, you can still go in and NSF that check.

Not sure how I feel about that.  If the check cleared maybe you shouldn't be able to NSF it anymore.
