Dynamics CRM onpremise (2015) - Users from 2 different domains in same Organization

Hello,

I would like to setup access to my CRM 2015 onpremise tenant to two different active directory domains (AD-Domain1 and AD-Domain2) in the same company. I know that it can be possible by adding 2 ADFS servers.

Can anybody tell me what is the best practice address this kinds of requirement. I would appreciate if you can share design diagram of how to set it up to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks

    Hi,

setting up claim based authentication (ADFS) is described here:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../gg188575.aspx

Alternatively you can trust the two domains, if that's an option. Then you can have single sign on via LDAP (AD).

Hi Thomas, Thank you for your reply.  I am looking for how to do trust between two domains within same company network using two ADFS servers. This should be a claims based authentication (Internal) due to both domains are in the same company network.  As shown in the below, instead of using one ADFS server, is it required to use two ADFS servers to trust between supported two different domains? Can you help me understanding more. Thanks in advance.

    Hi

Establishing a trust is explained here:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../cc961481.aspx

You shouldn't require adfs authentication in this scenario at all.

If the two domains are trusted you cam use windows authentication.

In CRM you setup the users with username <domain>/<username>
