GP and Printers

There were new printers installed on site, and the GP printing now goes to the new printers.

The reports are now printing with cutoff data, and some of the wording is appearing overlapped.

Printer Model:  Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C3530i

Printer drivers used: Canon Generic Plus PCL 6 & UFRII

Tax invoice report print out issues

There is little to no improvement by changing to the UFRII printer drivers as the sides of the page are still being cut off when directly printing from GP.

If you export the report to a PDF and then print it via Adobe reader, the report is printed correctly.

Anyone had success with fixing printer issues.

Thanks,

Mick

    RE: GP and Printers

I have no definitive answer for you but I have used a variety of printers and MFP's over my 20+ year Dynamics GP (Great Plains) career including Canon, Kyocera, HP, Dell, Brother, Okidata...

When I have experienced this type of issue due to a printer change, it has always been resolved by either a different driver or settings within the Windows printer properties.

I have run into more issues using a vendors Universal Driver and so most always chose their definitive driver for the model. In some cases with HP I found their current driver simply would not work properly and I would use an older driver and in one case I had to resort to a different printer model driver but very similar in design and features to the actual printer.

In the printer properties within windows, some drivers have options for zooming or page fitting (similar to Acrobat settings) so look for those (if your driver has them) and try different settings there.

I am assuming these aren't modified reports and that you aren't using any other intermediary software to manage printing processing.

    Hope this helps.
