We are looking tidy up our product list to ensure old product codes do not show up anymore when the user is looking for products. is there a way to hide or remove products . I know you can put products on stop. But we would like to ensure products are not visible

Which D365 product are you using? The D365 brand covers quite a few things, such as Finance and Operations, Business Central or Customer Engagement.

block items to prevent transactions, but they will still appear in lookups. If you want to tidy up your product list so old codes are no longer visible, you have a few options. You can use filters or views to only display active items, assign outdated items to a separate category and exclude them, or take a more controlled approach by adding a custom field such as Visible in Lookup and adjusting item lookup pages to only show items where this is true. Deleting items is only possible if they have never been used in transactions, so the recommended practice is to keep old items for history but hide them from users through filters or a simple customization.
