Got few queries on Orphaned data

Extension was created by a partner, not ready to share code and now we moved to another partner

When we delete extension, I believe data will stay forever
so if extension is removed and data is in 50K custom fields then can we use the same data in new extension?
if we create new fields with same table/field no. and data type, we will be able to see historical data which was from previous extension?

anything we should be careful for?

Hi, yes, when an extension is deleted in Business Central, the data associated with that extension will remain in the system unless it is explicitly deleted or modified.
Please keep in mind that the ability to reuse the data from the previous extension depends on the design and compatibility of the new extension.
It's recommended to consult with the new partner to ensure a smooth transition and proper handling of the data from the previous extension.

My question is not about how to delete extension data or orphaned data

it is about, how can I reuse the data if data is in custom objects range
how to migrate data from one extension to another

I had impression if you remove the extension and write a new extension with same object nos. then data will used by new extension.

Hi, when you delete an extension, the data associated with it will not be automatically deleted by default.
However, you have the option to delete the extension data when uninstalling the extension by selecting the "Delete Extension Data" option in the uninstall dialog box.
If you choose to delete the extension data, all data owned by the extension will be deleted.

When delete the orphaned data, it is important to be cautious and ensure that you have a backup of the data before deleting it.

    Best Regards,
    Judy

    Hi
    Here some information
You will not be able to create the same field. since it belongs to the other extension. You could create your own fields and tables, and then add the other extension as a dependency, and create the functionality to transfer the data between them.
