Hello,

Is it possible to prevent Business Central from assigning a default bin to an item when it is put-away/handled for the first time?

Essentially, this would be asking to make all bins floating until the bin property (Default, Dedicated, Fixed) is assigned by the user.

Bin Mandatory Location - Default Bin Assignment

As far as I know it's not possible. Yes, in the location card there is a "Default Bin Selection" field, but the only options are Fixed Bin or Last Used Bin, its not possible to have a floating bin.

You could change to fixed bin per below. This field depends on your location setup and may grey out if the location doesn't allow it to change.
