Outlook email address not matching CRM email address

Hi,

Before starting this trial of Dynamics 365, I had one email account I used through hotmail (setup 5 years ago). I use the outlook desktop program for accessing my mail. After starting my trial of Dynamics 365, I downloaded the 'CRM for Outlook' which integrates Dynamics right into my desktop email program. However, I receive an message stating that my outlook email address doesn't match my Dynamics 365 email address.

I referenced this article (https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/dynamics/crm-customer-center/the-outlook-email-address-should-be-the-same-as-the-dynamics-365-email-address.aspx), but I'm not able to edit my primary email address as the only user.

Calling support was unsuccessful this morning. Looking for any help please.

To be clear, I want to use my hotmail account as the primary email and have that match my Dynamics 365.

Thanks,

Brady

    Any ideas?

MS Support is telling me I need to purchase a Exchange license in order to properly set this up. I just want to be able to use either the Dynamics for Outlook or Dynamics App for Outlook.

    Hi BB21,

Did you follow the steps here to setup your trial in Dynamics 365 correctly to your pop3 / smtp server?

    technet.microsoft.com/.../mt622063.aspx

Once this is setup and the mailbox verified etc. then try again.

Please let me know if I am missing something on what you are trying to do.

    Thanks,

    Drew,

Thank you for the response! I did try with Microsoft Support...unfortunately didn't get anywhere. However, I believe I'm on to a better option.

I'm attempting to use the Dynamics 365 App instead of the Dynamics CRM plugin, which I was previously trying to setup. Dynamics recommends the App as the best option for implementing with Outlook from what I read.

Going in a completely different direction but I'll ask...

I currently have a domain through GoDaddy for my website and 3 forwarding email addresses within that domain that flow to my hotmail account. I do see that you can add your own domain under 365 Admin Center...I'm wondering if I could point to the email through GoDaddy that goes all the way back to my hotmail account?
