How BOM price calculation can be done, when final BOM contains items from different sites

Hello everyone,

i have a case where we have one legal entity with two different production sites.  For the finished product  Item§1 we created a BOM and an active route for site 1. In that BOM there is an Item§2, which is also a BOM type item and it will be produced in the site 2 (created route for site 2), then transfered to site 1 and be used further in the production of the final finished product Item §1.

When i run a BOM price calculation i have to define for which site i run it. So if i want to calculate a price for the Item§1, i choose site 1, so that active BOM and route version will be applied. During calculation with the multilevel explosion, when it reaches the moment, that the price for the sub-item Item§2 should be recalculated, it cant find an active route for site 1, so that the calculation for the final product is not correct/ misses costs of the manufacturing part for the Item§2.

Is there a way in D365 F&O to overcome this issue? So that correct route during the calculation will be applied for the Item§2? Or in this case it is only possible to setup Item§2 as a type = Item, not BOM, and to use standard logic of BOM calculation groups, to treat that item as a purchased item?

Thanks!
Alina

    Hello Laursen,

thanks for the tip! Unfortunately it just proves my theory that there is no a better solution in this case as only to calculate for subassembly fixed price for a correct site, only then it will be used in the cost of the final item.

Was hoping that over the years something changed in that area.

    Kind regards,
    Alina
