Hi folks

I am working on a task which requires me to have a bidirectional flow of data between PowerApps and D365fno, I know about about dataverse tables which uses FnO inbuilt connector. I wanted to know are there any other ways of integration between these two applications. If yes please suggest me some other ways
I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

The only 2 ways that come to my mind when you want to write into database to F&O is either dataverse via virtual entities or via custom scripts. However, custom scripts needs approval, i.e. one user uploads the script and another approves it. Also, the idea of custom scripts is to update data once to correct them for example, but its not meant for periodic updates.

Therefore, dataverse is the way to go - I know, its quite expensive....

    Kind regards, Adis

    Hi,

As Adis mentioned there are some other options to use Dynamics 365 F&O data in Power Apps. To have a complete overview, here are the options including the one you are referring to.

    • Dual Write - Bi-directional data sync between Dataverse and Dynamics 365 F&O
    • Virtual tables - F&O data entities can be exposed as virtual tables in Dataverse. The data resides within Dynamics 365 F&O and you can use the virtual tables in Power Apps.
    • Custom webservices - Needs development in Dynamics 365 F&O. Data remains in Dynamics 365. This is harder to implement in a Power App.
    • FinOps connector for Power Platform. This is not as flexible to use compared to using Virtual tables and the Dataverse connector. There are some limitations and the FinOps connector is, as per my experience, slower compared to using virtual tables.
    • Other integration options, like Logic Apps to sync data between Dataverse and Power Apps.
