PO Number skipping

PO numbers are skipping a few at a time randomly. We have implemented the Min PO using the PSTL and still see it happening. PO are created thru GP interface and through eConnect API but as far as I know they both access the 'next PO number' from the same place. Does anyone else use eConnect to create PO's and find it interfering with manual PO numbering? Is there anything else I should be checking into to understand why this could be continuing to happen?

    Instinct tells me it will be whatever it is you are doing with eConnect . 

    It may be that eConnect is taking a PO number then never using it (in some circumstances). You would need to investigate the code that is driving the integration to see where that may be happening.

    Is anyone sitting on the PO entry screen while the PO entry process is occurring someplace else? This would reserve that PO number.
