Do we know how long the additional Database storage qualified offer will be valid for?

We have few customers who are on the previous storage model. The reason we haven't migrated them to the newer capacity model is #1 the considerably higher pricing as compared to what they are paying with the qualified offer and #2 the qualified offer is still available in the monthly pricing list. I did learn in one of the conferences that Microsoft is looking to review this pricing model. Moving clients with almost  100 GB of DB storage from $5 to $40 per GB sounds insane. Does anyone know if we should be waiting for MS to announce price change or move clients to higher pricing model incase the qualified offer is put to an end?

    Hi,

It is recommended to use storage with the new pricing model in case the legacy storage model is terminated.

You can use some strategies to reduce your own storage costs, such as deleting long-term invalid data.

If you still want to use the legacy storage model for storage, you must pay attention to the official statement to prevent losses.

If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

    Best Regards,

is correct that there are things you can do to reduce the storage footprint.  Also though, I think you misinterpreted the pricing model.  While the new model is more expensive it is nowhere near an 8 to 1 factor as the new model provides a higher 'included' storage allowance before having to buy additional versus the old model that was largely the reverse.

    Thanks for your reply Lorne.

From what i have seen, the included storage is not sufficient for DB capacity. Customers get a default of 10GB and then 0.25GB per full user license only. We are experiencing it is not enough for smaller companies with few users. Adding just a couple of Gigs for DB makes their monthly bill relatively higher

There's no doubt that there is a cost increase.  I'm sure MS would counter with the quite significant range of new capabilities they've delivered over the last few release waves (and I happen to think its true).  Plus, well, MS isn't a not-for-profit at the end of the day....
