Extend Plugin Time Out beyond 2 minutes

Hi All

I wish to import a 12mb Solution to a new instance and am using The Solutions Transfer Tool from the XRMToolbox.

As the file is so large, I get a 2 minute time out error code and the process stops the import.

The request channel timed out while waiting for a reply after 00:01:59.9528083. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request or increase the SendTimeout value on the Binding. The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout.

I don't know where I would go to increase the timeout value.  Any help would be appreciated

    Hi Jim,

    Its seems the XRMToolbox plugin issue. Try with dynamics CRM OOB solution export import.

    BTW increase timeout more than 2 min is not supported.

    Thanks for the swift reply.  I had tried importing the file with the OOTB solution, but that too failed, and so I thought I'd try XrmTools.

    Are you getting any error  using OOTB? Can you please share here.

    Thanks Jim ,  You have got only this error after download the log file.

    Can you please try to split the solution files into two solutions and try to export and import. I know this is not easy task but without proper error message it's hard to understand where it's failing and that's why I told you to share screenshot and log files.

    Your help is much appreciated Goutam.   The error appears after the file is imported and it does not produce a log file or entities where it failed.

     

    There are 40 plus plugins, e.g. Kaskella Workflows etc, and thousands of records. 

    Splitting into two separate files is beyond my ability.

     

    In essence I want to copy my “default solution” onto another tenant.  So I’ve exported the “default” and want to import that onto the new tenant.

    Hi Jim ,

    You can try with moving plugins in another solution and try to import separately .

    Hi,

    I am not able to find the officual documentation buy preety sure that import default solution is not supported and you may run into such issues.

    You need to create a solution and add all your required components.

    The large solution size can be large due to plugin assemblies and reports so create separate solution for plugin assemblies and reports.
