We have an employee that is about to reach her max on 401K amount (18,000.00) and everything looks correct in the system. But it stops her 401k at 17,500.00, Why? Need your help on to see why this is happening.

    Hi Emerald,

If you go to Setup>>Payroll>>Deduction, it will bring up the Deduction Setup window.  Choose your 401k deduction code and you should see the calendar max in the bottom right.  I would assume yours would be set at 17,500.  Change that to $18,000 and when you save, I believe it prompts you to roll down the changes.  If you're OK with that, roll it down.   You can verify by employee by going into the Employee Deduction Maintenance under payroll cards.

    Hope this helps!

Thank you so muuch for the reply. So I did that and rolled it down, when we build checks the 401K displays correctly, but when we calculate checks, the 401K deduction will not appear.

    Hi,

Was the check batch already built or did you rebuild after you changed the deduction max?  If it was already built, then the change wouldn't roll down the the check record.

If that's not it, let me know.  I may have another resource. Thanks.

Hi Jim, I finally figured it out. I had to change the Retirement Contribution also from Tools>Setup>Payroll>Retirement Contribution. Thank you for your help.
