GP Add-Ins Slow Down Login Process

Client has recently upgraded their Citrix environment where GP resides to Windows 2008 64 bit.t t

They have installed GP 10.0 successfully and it works fine.

The problem is the initial login screen takes close to one minute to enable before allowing input of the userid and password.

They have discovered that the problem is with the an Addins directory created when theyinstalled with these items:

eOne.Dynamics.GP.ExcelBuilder.Engine.dll
Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.BusinessIntelligence.DeployDataConnections.dll
Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.BusinessIntelligence.DeployExcelReports.dll
Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.BusinessIntelligence.ExternalData.dll
Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.Sharepoint.dll

Client renamed the Addins directory, restarted GP, and there was no lag in login.

However, they need these Add-Ins to work with GP but do not want the added log in wait of up to 2 minutes.

Does anyone know why the Add-Ins increase the login time AND any suggestions for a work-around?

Thank you,

Nancy Hogan

    Hello;

    I do not know the answer to the issue but I do know the issue is the eOne.Dynamics.GP.ExcelBuilder.Engine.dll and Smart List Builder as I have been fighting the same problem on all of my clients systems too.  If you have any information should you have resolved your issue it would be greatly received if you could share :-)

    Thanks so much

    Ian

    The following will stop this from happening though not a fix - more of a work around:

    1. Go to Windows Explorer and to the GP 10.0 install folder.

    2. Make a backup of the dynamics.exe.config file.

    3. Open the file in Notepad and add the following under the node.

    <runtime>

    <generatePublisherEvidence enabled="false"/>

    </runtime>

    Put it near the top of the file

    Thanks

    Ian
