Hi all,

I'm facing a problem when calculating Invoice Due Date in SOP. So, I need to set this date manually when enter the invoice data or even to update invoice's due date after posting it.

Any suggestion to achieve that.

Thanks in advance for you participating.

    Go to Transactions > Sales > Edit Transaction Information. You can change specific transaction information such as due date as shown below;

If you want to manually change the due date while entering invoices, click the arrow button near by customer id field from header section of the window and check the payment terms. The due date will be calculated based on the payment terms of customers.

For example, the invoice document date is 17-July-2014 and payment terms is set for Net 30, then the due date will be calculated after 30th day of the invoice document date. So, the due date for this invoice is 17-Aug-2014.

    Hope this helps!!!

    Thank you Mohamed,

This window will just enable me editing for Receivable Management transactions but transactions which sourced from SOP module will not appear into Lockup search !!

    Hi Somakarpagamoorthy...

Your suggested solution will be helpful before transaction post... but what user can do if transaction is already been posted.

Any other solution for this case?

    Thanks,

    Hi Ehab,

Receivables created from posted SOP documents should show up in the lookup window. I just posted a SOP invoice and went into the Edit Receivables Transactions, and sure enough, there it was. When you post a SOP invoice, it creates a receivables transaction. You can do anything to that transaction that you can do with a document entered directly in receivables. Did you have some posted SOP invoices that were not available in the lookup for this window?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Soma,

I think she wants to actually be able to type in the due date from the SOP Transaction Entry window. There isn't anywhere on that window, or any expansion arrow, that will let you do that. This has been a problem for me for many years. I don't know the theory of why we can't override the date at the time of invoice entry, but that's the way I think it's designed.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi Leslie,

Yes. There is no due date field in invoice entry. But, I think while entering invoices, we can click the blue arrow near by customer id to change the payment terms. Based on the payment terms entering by invoice entry, system will use the due date for the invoice rather than the customer master payment terms.

    Hope this helps!!!

    Thank you Leslie...

So, we didn't have another luxury functionality to override transactions' due dates :(

    Hi Soma,

I get it, but often the 'due date' may not be as easy as selecting a payment term. You may end up having to create odd payment terms that aren't widely used or are only applicable to this transaction. It's a real problem in my opinion and not so easily solved as just setting up a new payment term. Let's say you are negotiating terms on the phone with a customer and come up with something that essentially is just a date, now you'd have to create a new payment term that would calculate that date. Compare that effort to clicking on an expansion button and simply entering the date.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
