Accessing Business Central 2023 wave 1 (BC22)

Posted on by 3,482

Hi:

I'm trying to learn more about accessing Business Central 2023 wave 1 (BC22).

I want to review and have the potential of demonstrating its new features.

Is that possible?  Is it something that is relatively simple to set up, as a sandbox in the Admin Center?  I have tried and cannot.

Thanks!

John

    hi

To access Business Central 2023 wave 1 (BC22), you need to have a valid subscription to Business Central, either through Microsoft or a Microsoft partner. Once you have a subscription, you can access BC22 by creating a new environment or upgrading an existing environment.

To create a new environment for BC22, you can use the Dynamics 365 Admin Center. In the admin center, navigate to the Environments page and click the + New button to create a new environment. On the New Environment page, select Business Central as the product, select the wave, and then select the version of BC22 that you want to use.

Alternatively, you can upgrade an existing environment to BC22. To do this, navigate to the Environments page in the admin center, select the environment you want to upgrade, and then click the Upgrade button. On the Upgrade page, select the version of BC22 that you want to upgrade to, and then follow the instructions to complete the upgrade.

Note that creating a new environment or upgrading an existing environment may require some configuration and setup, including setting up security roles and permissions, importing data, and setting up integrations. Depending on your level of experience with Business Central and your specific requirements, this process may be relatively simple or more complex.

If you're having trouble creating a sandbox in the admin center or accessing BC22, you may want to consult the Business Central documentation or reach out to Microsoft support for assistance.

    Hi John,
I'm not sure why you don't see the version dropdown list

First, you enter the environment name, type, and country

The version dropdown below the country is disabled at first, but it becomes enabled when you select the country, so you have to scroll down to see it.

After selecting version BC 22 wave 1 you create the environment.

I cannot see that version drop-down list in "Create Environment".  How do you get there?

Hi, I've been testing new features since the Preview release last month.

The public preview for Dynamics 365 Business Central 2023 release wave 1 (BC22) is available
    https://yzhums.com/35016/

Now the official version has also been released last week.

General availability: Dynamics 365 Business Central 2023 release wave 1 (BC22)
    https://yzhums.com/36607/

And major update of Dynamics 365 Business Central 2023 release wave 1 (BC22) is available for existing customers
    https://yzhums.com/36846/

You now have multiple options, create a new BC22 environment, and test.
Or copy the existing environment, and then upgrade to BC22 for testing.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    It is simple.

Please follow the below video and now you will see BC22 version instead of preview directly.
