We are in the process of looking for FRX replacement options. Did your company go with Microsoft's replacement option (Management Reporter) or something different? Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.

    RE: FRX replacement options

    Martha,

Upto GP 2010 version FRX will support and for GP 2013 R2 you can still use FRX with 32 bit ODBC connection.  As per Microsoft for GP 2013 and higher version will have to use Management Reporter is replacement for FRX because they dont support FRx any more for these versions.

We have been recommending BI 360 to all of our clients. This is an Excel add-on to produce financial report plus it has a budgeting tool and a web portal for distribution of reports. You can check them out at www.SolverUSA.com

    Hi Martha,

If you own a license for FRx, the upgrade to MR 2012 will be free.. Most important, there is a migration wizard that will help you migrate most of your FRx reports to MR2012..

Free doesn't mean it will be simple and easy.. you should be reading thoroughly all the guides and training documentation that is available for MR 2012. Check around the forums and blogs about hiccups and issues with MR 2012. The product was far from perfect and complete when release initially, but has now become quite mature.

We looked into various alternative solutions a few years back, but most of them will imply quite heavy investments and also learning curves too. We ended up sticking with MR 2012 and bought Prophix as replacement for the Forecaster 7.x, which took about 6 months of implementation before it could be used in prod.

    Hope this helps...

    Hi Martha,

If you are still in the market for FRx replacement software, I invite you to check out FinPro Solutions (www.finprosolutions.com).  Many of our customers have abandoned FRx and moved over to FinPro because of the easy and rapid implementation, the intuitive Excel-based interface, and the boutique level of customer service that all customers receive.  All of the features of FinPro can be accessed via an Excel add-in so that means no more logging into other programs or exporting data into Excel.  You can even connect FinPro to other data sources including Salesforce.com, ADP, billing systems or pretty much any other data source.
