How to Add Stockkeeping Units "After the Fact"

Hi:

As an end user, we have already begun to set up and test inventory Item Cards along with Production BOMs and Routings.

We're just now learning that we need to set up stockkeeping units for many or all of our items, based on Location.

Is there an efficient means of using the "Create Stockkeeping Unit" screen, for all or many Item Cards, even though processing and testing of Production is already underway?

Thanks!

John

     Hi John,

You don't need to create the SKU manually. I recommend creating a configuration package for the Stockkeeping Unit (5700) table once the item numbers are finalized. It's an easy process, and the best part is that the SKU table doesn’t have the same amount of columns as the item card.

    Thanks, Ramesh

    Hello,

Yes! You can efficiently create Stockkeeping Units (SKUs) for multiple items, even if you’ve already started testing Production BOMs and Routings in Business Central. The "Create Stockkeeping Unit" function allows you to generate SKUs in bulk for all or selected items, based on existing locations, variants, or item filters.

    Hope this might helpful!
