Email Router and Gmail

I have configured the Email Router to connect to GMail using pop/smtp.  I have one email address / gmail account for the smtp access credentials and another email adddress / gmail account for my user account.  When I send out an email, the email that is received shows the from address as the email address that is configured in the smtp access credentials instead of the email address that is configured in my user account.  Looking at the headers of the received emails, I do see the user accounts email address listed in the  X-Google-Original-From tag, but the From tag lists the email routers access credentials email address.

I have gone in to GMail and configured the account that is being used by the dynamics user account and granted access to the gmail account that is being used for the email routers access credentials. Regardless of whether the control of the users GMail account is granted to the email routers access credentials account is given or not, the result is the same.

I can't find any similar instances of this issue in various forums and everything I read indicates that the emails should be sent out with the users email address. I'm kind of stuck on this one so any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Hi Rian,

My name is Andres Guzman and I'm glad to try to help you.

I saw in many times issues related with some Email providers that use pop/smtp protocols.

In general I recommended to create a Profile (both incoming and outgoing) for each user that you want to use in CRM Online

You need to specify in your CRM the credentials for this mailbox to Email Router pass the info and send and receive the emails generated.

Please let me know if you need additional info

    Thanks Andres,

I found that inside of GMail, I had to set the "send mail as" permission for each email address I was trying to send as from CRM.  I had been trying to set the "Grant access to your account" setting with in gmail which also gives the send as permission, but it just does not work the same way.

I am curious about your suggestion though.  I'm using CRM onpremise, not crm online.  You suggested that I set a incoming and outgoing profile for each user, however I can only create one deployment per organization.  When I try to create more than 1 deployment per org, I get a message that there is already a deployment for that org.  Is this functionality different when using CRM online or how would I accomplish what you are suggesting?

    Hi Rian,

The tab related with Profiles is the option that you have to connect Email Router with your Email Provider, the Deployment tab is related with the connection between Email Router and CRM.

That's way you only need to have one deployment configuration to connect one CRM.

    The same for CRM Online.

I think you only need to try to create one incoming and one outgoing profile for each user to have the emails working.

Let me know if you need something else

    Regards,
