Hi all,

The issue I am facing here is, I did some enhancements at sales transaction window. When I deployed the chunk im the test Server for clients to test my enhancement, When they are creating the new document for Sales transaction they are not able to see / execute the enhancemnts. But when I tried it from my system everything is working fine. I tried with users that I created for the clients to test and there is no problem for me. When they are trying it exactly the way I am doing from their User Ids they are able to view the enhancements. Can anybody help me with this issue?

What is the type of enhancement you are applying on the sales transaction entry window?

May you elaborate more on the type of modifications you have deployed

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Have you changed the SOP window mode in "Alternate/Modified Forms and Reports" window to your product for the user which is having the problem?

    Hi,

You mentioned a chunk file, so I presume you are using Dexterity. You also said you did some enhancements. Did those enhancements result in an Alternate window? Did those enhancements require security to be updated for the existing users. If you create a test environment with their data, does it work? If you copy the security (in test) from one of your users to one of the existing users, does that work?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

There are several things to be aware of when deploying enhancements for users:

First, customization dictionaries.  If you modify a  form (window) or report, the process creates a modified Forms.DIC or Reports.DIC  respectively.

Second, the locations of these files vary.  They default to the Data folder in your Dynamics GP program folder on your local machine.

Third, these files should be in a shared directory on the server for all users to have access.  The location must be set on each workstation in the Dynamics.set file.

After the customizations are shared appropriately, then you need to set security for Alternate or Modified forms, thankfully this can be done at group level - normally DEFAULT User. as described in Leslie's post.
