The add-in won’t open

Hello,

I’m trying to open Excel to edit and upload information to some tables and modules, but the add-in won’t open. In the image, it shows that nothing appears. Does anyone know why this might be happening? I’ve already tried clearing the Excel cache and signing out and back into my account, but it’s not working. Please help.

    Hi Alberto,

Can you tell us what Dynamics 365 application this question is related to? There are several different solutions in the Dynamics 365 family, like: Sales, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Project Operations, and Customer Insights.

Is the Excel add-in blocked by a policy implemented by your internal system administrators? Was is visible and did you close the add-in by accident?

    Hello,

If the Business Central Excel add-in opens completely blank, it’s usually a WebView2 runtime issue, an Office authentication mismatch, or the add-in being disabled; most commonly, reinstalling or repairing Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime fixes it because the BC add-in runs inside that engine, so close Excel, repair/reinstall WebView2, reboot, and test again; also confirm Excel is signed in with the same M365 account as BC, ensure the Microsoft Dynamics Office Add-in is enabled under File → Options → Add-ins, and make sure Office is fully updated—if it works in Excel Online but not desktop, the issue is local to your Office installation.

    Regards,
