date is not within your allowed range of posting dates error on nav in nav version 2017

So i have the dreaded error message "date is not within your allowed range of posting dates" error on nav in nav version 2017

Basically June, July and August Inventory have been left open and there are errors. I have changed the dates back to with in the range ie 1st June. I am new to Nav and company only 3 weeks. The FD who would normally do this is away from the business and not contactable so we are unsure what he would normally do.  I have gone through the Adjust Cost and Post Inventory cost to GL and the same above error message comes up.

Does the setup/GL date need to be changed on the person who raise the job/stock and try on her machine. I wouldn't have thought it would make a difference.

Any help on the above would be much appreciated as we are waiting to move into September 24.

the error message doesn't specify the batch name, and other information. Maybe you are not posting correctly? Since you are new to NAV, I would suggest you not to try to change the posting date range, which resides in different places in NAV. If you explain step by step what are you trying to do with screenshots, experts will offer more specific recommendations.

It sounds like you may need to adjust the "Allow Posting From" setting in the General Ledger Setup, as it has only been updated in the User Setup page. To resolve this, ensure that the "Allow Posting From" dates are the same in both the General Ledger Setup and the User Setup. This should help resolve the issue.

    Hello,

You can set allowed posting ranges on the General Ledger Setup (for all users) and the User Setup (setup per user) pages.
If you have a User Setup created for the user that trying to post the journal, then allowed posting dates on the General Ledger Setup will be overridden with the User Setup.

Make sure that your date on the User Setup on the Allow Posting From field is = or < than the posting date on your journal.
As Jun said, it's a little suspicious that the error message doesn't specify the batch name, but this error needs to show on the Preview posting, so you can test your setup by starting the Preview posting after making sure that you have the correct setup.

If you still do not have luck, start your debugger and see what he will tell you.

    Greetings,

EDIT: I forgot that Debbuger may be unavailable for you. If you know what it is, use it, if you don't know then try this above.

If customization is not included, there are three places where this control is available depending on your version.
Hope the following can give you some hints.
Dynamics 365 Business Central: How to use “Allow Posting From” and “Allow Posting To” in General Journal Templates – The third way to specify posting periods

    Thanks.

To add more details - my guess is that the problem is because of the Adjust Cost Entries batch job which looks at the Allow Posting From in the General Ledger Setup. In this case if the User Setup Allow Posting From is at a later date than the General Ledger Setup Allow Posting From you will get the error message in your post.
