Cannot reverse a registered product/license plate on a purchase order

Previously in AX2012, we were able to easily reverse a registered product/license plate on a purchase order. After we upgraded to Dynamics D365, we are no longer able to do this. We followed all the same steps and have followed steps outlined online
  1. On the PO lines go to Update line > Registration
  2. Select the line to reverse then go to Add registration line which will bring it over as a negative quantity
  3. Confirm registration
We keep receiving an error that there is no inventory available in that location even though there is inventory available in that location. Our item model group is set up to allow negative physical and financial inventory and has manual reservation. We do not have any open work or quality orders associated to this item and license plate. Any help or ideas on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

    Assuming PO is in received status and try to reverse the PO received Qty.
     
    Firstly Cancel the Product Receipt of the item received and then automatically it reverse and bring the registered Item to Ordered Stage
     
     
     
    Then it will be cancelled and removed the registration automatically and make the PO to Open Order from Received status.
     
    If the work is completing through the warehouse app or Advanced WMS then please go with the process as shown by , which leads the system to forcefully cancel the existing pending works.
     
    Make sure the LPN and Inventory is available.

    Please make sure the inventory status is set to Available on both the on-hand inventory and the negative registration line. If the registered inventory is not in Available status, update it using the Change inventory status function before trying to reverse.

    Laurens - thank you for your answer however, there is no open work associated to this order
     
    Vijay - thank you for your answer however, there was no product receipt entered for this registered amount
     
    Syed - the Inventory status is already AVAILABLE on both the on hand and in the registration and we still cannot reverse the registration.

    Just Clarification, Registered amount or Registered Qty? 
     
    Gotcha, 
     
    If the Order status is in Draft, we cant change the registration it will be greyed out, so make sure the PO is Approved/Confirmed Stage and then go to update line Registration and Add Registered and Confirm Registration ( Re Process the same how you do for Registration of Item)
     
     
     
    Please make the PO to confirmed and then try again.

    Good day,
     
    You need to revert the "Closed work" with the function "Cancel work". 
     
    After the cancellation of the closed work, the inventory becomes available for the "Undo of the registration".

    Is it possible to share this item transactions with its inventory FD and receipt and Issue status?

    Hi @Laurens vd Tang I ran the cancel work process and I am still getting the same error message. I even triple checked that there were no open quality orders for the registration as well
     
    @Syed Haris Shah below is the line in a test environment I am trying to reverse.

    Hi,
     
    This error comes normally when 
     
    1 - Scenario 1 - Registration done using mobile device - Items are registered but there is an open put away work. In this case cancel the work and after which it works. There is also the parameter in the warehouse management parameters which allows for cancellation of registration if work is cancelled.
    2 - Scenario 2 - Registration done without mobile device - Its simple select the registered line > Click Add registration line > It comes in Botton grid > Click confirm registration > Its cancelled and ordered transactions are increased.
    3 - Scenario 3 - No matter how registration is done - On hand for the item should be on the exact dimensions as shown on the registration form (Same location, same license plate and same status) It works 
    4 - Scenario 4 - No matter how registration is done - The on-hand stock on the exact dimension should be 100 percent available physical and there should be no reservations against it. If reservation exist remove them from source and try cancelling and it works. 
    5 - Scenario 5 - Check if quality order exists for the license plate. if yes cancel it and try again.
    6 - Is product receipt posted?
     
    if all this does not help, please share the on-hand screenshot of
     
    1 - Registration form and the line you are trying to cancel.
    2 - the item on exact dimensions and the Physical inventory, Physical reserved, and Available Physical are visible. 
     
    Also share me how exactly you did registration.
     
    1 - Using mobile device or using rich client
    2 - using quality management or not
    3 - Inventory blocking in use?
