Posted on by 182
Hi Techis,

Is it possible to import a .csv or .txt file using XML port through Job Queue for ON-PREM? without any manual intervention? assuming the file is in shared network folder??

if not , please let me know any work around.

Thanks
Raj

Hi, just a idea, you can use Power Automate to first read files into BC, then customize a Codeunit to read the data, and then delete the file.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

    Hi raj,

To answer your question, yes, it's possible but that extension will require target = onPrem. (Not Suggested)
If you setup extension as on-prem, customer will have to buy additional module for per user, per month.

The other way possible is -
    • To Store file in an online file storage like - SharePoint, OneDrive or Azure Blob Storage.
    • If file is stored in online storage, then you can read file via job queue.
    • To import file using Job Queue you will have to call xmlport via Codeunit or report and those are only objects that can be used in Job Queue.
