We are planning on upgrading RMS 2.0 sp2 by applying service pack 3, feature pack 1, service pack 4. What epson opos driver is supported by RMS? We have been use 2.0 but I think 2.70 is the latest?
Thanks

eho,
You mentioned the only disadvantage that I know of. But if we know going in that the drawer needs to be managed, we use a USB drawer and install an OPOS driver only for it
Advantages are that you don't have to screw with OPOS and its issues as well as the drivers (as you've seen). Wrap around descriptions, Serial numbers printed. There others but I cannot find my list.
But be warned, we don't sell Epson printers, we do Star Micronics. Some say that the Epson Windows drivers are not as fast as the OPOS ones, for Stars they are just as fast.
we will try skipping sp3. I though it had to be in place to install feature pack 1. We installed 2.6 opos yesterday and store ops would not start. we immediately got an activex error 409 or 429.. If we use the windows driver I think we loose some of the security around the cash drawer. What are the advantages or disadvatages of going straight windows drivers.
We don't use OPOS so can't help there, but there is no need for SP3, just install the FP and then SP4.
I would use latest version of Epson opos drive.
If you are also upgrading to Windows 7 or TM-88 V epson printer than the latest version 2.6 or 2.7 will work ok.
If you are still using Windows XP and not changing the Epson printer the earlier version will also work.
